Update: COVID-19 Recovery

The City of Mississauga continues to closely monitor the COVID-19 outbreak in collaboration with Peel Public Health.  This includes several measures designed to limit physical distancing.  Council has supported a phased plan for facility rentalsWe’re taking steps to reopen our programs and facilities safely with support from Peel Public Health and government partners.

Latest updates on the City’s COVID-19 response and service impacts.

  • The Paramount Fine Foods Centre will be closed to the public until further notice.
  • Following the Provincial Government and Public Health guidelines The City of Mississauga has made the difficult decision to cancel all previously scheduled Recreation Programs (including summer camp) for July and August.
  • In an effort to support families in Mississauga, we will offer a modified version of our popular Summer Fun Camp, aligning with the Ministry of Health’s guidelines. As group sizes will be much smaller and there are room capacities in place to support physical distancing, the number of spaces available will be significantly reduced. Registration will be on a first come, first served basis. Please refer to the Summer Camp FAQ for more information.
  • Based on the advice of Peel Public Health, at the City Council Meeting (May 27), Council has directed that permits for festivals, events, tournaments and other large gatherings, with more than 50 people in city facilities be cancelled until September 7, 2020.  Permit holders for larger gatherings of over 50 people will be contacted directly and credited accordingly.  To request a refund or for any other questions, please contact our Customer Service Centre at facility.rentals@mississauga.ca.

Facility rentals & bookings
The City of Mississauga continues to closely monitor the COVID-19 outbreak in collaboration with Peel Public Health.  This includes several measures designed to limit physical distancing.  Council has supported a phased plan for facility rentals.

Starting July 20, permitted use of:

  • Paramount Fine Foods Centre Sportsplex (gymnasium rentals)
  • Paramount Fine Foods Centre Community Rinks (arena floor rentals)

All permits will be required to follow provincial and regional guidelines.  Currently, provincial guidelines only allow training sessions for team sports – no games or scrimmages are permitted.  Groups are also required to put in place operational procedures in order to maintain appropriate physical distancing as mandated by the province.

Due to these changes in permit format and ice availability, we have made the decision to cancel any existing draft ice, arena floor or gymnasium contracts for the summer season (through September 5). Any party interested in booking facility time for the summer season (July & August) are asked to email facility.rentals@mississauga.ca.

Council has directed that permits for festivals, events, tournaments and other large gatherings, with more than 50 people (i.e. banquets) be cancelled until September 7, 2020.

If you have had a booking that has been cancelled as a result, you will receive a credit on your account for the time missed.

To receive a refund instead of a credit or to find out information about booking a rental for a future date, please contact facility.rentals@mississauga.ca.
