MetroStars Holiday Food Drive Campaign

Arena Soccer Club Urges Fans to Collect Non-Perishable Food Items in Exchange for Tickets to Next Home Game This Thursday

The Mississauga MetroStars kicked off a program designed to assist Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie’s Holiday Food Drive in support of the Mississauga Food Bank. The MetroStars are encouraging fans to bring a non-perishable food item to the Paramount Fine Foods Centre Sportsplex (North Building – gate N) at 5600 Rose Cherry Place, in exchange for a ticket to the next home game against the Kansas City Comets this Thursday night at 7:35pm (ET).

MetroStars’ volunteer staff will be manning a kiosk at the Sportsplex from 5-10pm Tuesday, December 11 & Wednesday, December 12. You can also find them Thursday, December 13 from 6:30-7:30pm ahead of their game collecting non-perishable food items from fans. A limited number of tickets will be available during this campaign.

With this initiative, the MetroStars hope to reinforce their image as a community-oriented club that gives back to the City of Mississauga. The all-Canadian MASL team features a number of players who are Mississauga natives and have played much of their youth soccer with Mississauga-area youth teams.

The MetroStars’ next home game is this Thursday, December 13th, when they entertain the Kansas City Comets at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre with kickoff set for 7:35pm (ET).
